Does evidence-based design make designing facilities more difficult?
Last week’s HEALTHCARE DESIGN poll question asked:
Has the influx of evidence-based design (EBD) information made designing facilities easier or more difficult (sometimes contradicting your original design philosophy)?
35.29% – EBD helps us quickly and efficiently design quality interior spaces
58.82% – EBD can sometimes contradict our original design, forcing us to rethink the space
5.88% – We rarely, if ever, follow EBD practices consciously
COMMENTS:
– A poorly worded question. Rethinking design concepts to conform with EBD is not more difficult, its the right thing to do.
