HEALTHCARE DESIGN.05 revisited
From November 6 through November 9, 2005, the best and brightest in the healthcare design industry descended upon Scottsdale, Arizona, for HEALTHCARE DESIGN.05, the nation’s leading conference on advancing and transforming the built environment. More than 1,700 attendees and 100 exhibiting companies enjoyed the unique mix of educational sessions and networking opportunities in the gorgeous surroundings of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort.
Highlights included keynote speakers Dennis Snow, speaking on service excellence, Knut Bergsland on building the 21st-century hospital, and John Paul Eberhard, FAIA, on neuroscience and the connection to healthcare design, as well as The Center for Health Design Awards Ceremony, where Robin Guenther, AIA, LEED AP, was the recipient of the esteemed Changemaker Award, presented by The Center’s board of directors.
“It is amazing how in three short years the HEALTHCARE DESIGN Conference has become the ‘melting pot’ meeting for all professionals involved with creating healthcare environments,” says Executive Director of the HEALTHCARE DESIGN Conference and Publisher Emeritus of Healthcare Design Mark Goodman. “Witnessing the spirit of camaraderie that takes place each year among a variety of healthcare delivery and design professionals, coupled with their evident thirst to learn, explore, and forge new ideas, reaffirms the importance of and need for our conference. Every year at HEALTHCARE DESIGN, so many people have the opportunity to see old friends and make many new ones—people who are part of the community that we cultivate and nurture. It is an upbeat, inspiring time.”
