Because of continued concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and out of caution for the safety of its participants, the decision has been made to postpone the annual 2021 Environments for Aging (EFA) Expo & Conference until August. Originally scheduled to take place April 24-27, 2021, the new show dates are Saturday, August 28, to Tuesday, August 31, in Chattanooga, Tenn., allowing for the show to maintain its normal day pattern.

“Our community is incredibly eager to come together again in person. After consulting with key long-standing exhibitors and attendees, we made the decision to secure dates in late August in order to ensure maximum success for the event for all customer types. We feel the additional time will allow both exhibitors and attendees of EFA Expo & Conference more time to make plans for live participation in Chattanooga,” said Kevin Gaffney, group show director for EFA and vice president of Emerald Design Group (Emerald is the publisher of Environments for Aging magazine and Healthcare Design magazine).

Entering its 15th year, EFA Expo offers the latest strategies and ideas for creating functional and attractive living environments that meet the needs of an aging population. During this comprehensive three-day learning experience, attendees network with peers while learning about the latest innovations and best practices in senior-friendly design for long-term care and residential settings.

EFA Expo will be held for the first time at the Chattanooga Convention Center, which is located within a day’s drive of more than one-half the population of the United States. A free electric shuttle connects the convention center to more than 50 restaurants and 2,000 hotel rooms; an additional 8,000 hotel rooms and 150 restaurants can be found within 15 miles.
