Children’s Hospital Of Richmond Plans $400M Expansion
Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University Health (Richmond, Va.) is planning a $400 million expansion to its children’s pavilion, according to an article in Richmond Biz Sense.
The 500,000-square-foot, 16-story addition will house a pediatric trauma center, operating rooms, and inpatient units. The facility plans to open with 72 beds but can expand to 125 beds. Once completed, the project will enable the hospital to consolidate its pediatric services onto a single city block.
The project team includes HKS Architects (design; Richmond) and DPR Construction (general contractor; Richmond). It is slated for completion in spring 2023.
