Global design, architecture, engineering, and planning firm HOK has developed the Pediatrics and Behavioral Health Centers of Expertise, which will serve as strategic extensions of HOK’s healthcare practice.

The new specialized practices will provide resources, including the latest research and trends affecting pediatric and behavioral health treatment and care, to guide the firm’s design work.

Behavioral Health Practice Leaders Shiva Mendez, Virginia Pankey, and Kristen Markos will lead the Behavioral Health Center of Expertise, which will work in collaboration with HOK’s justice practice.

The Pediatrics Center of Expertise will be led by Karen Freeman, pediatrics practice leader, and Laura Poltronieri, regional leader of healthcare. The group will help expand HOK’s work with pediatric health providers, including Stanford Children’s Health (Palo Alto, Calif.), Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus, Ohio), and Ocshner Children’s Hospital (Jefferson, La.).
