Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford Celebrates New Surgical Center
Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford‘s recently opened its new surgical center in Palo Alto, Calif.
The Bonnie Uytensgu and Family Surgery and Intervention Center includes six new surgical suites and six interventional treatment rooms including radiology and cardiac catheterization labs. The hospital’s existing seven operating rooms are currently undergoing upgrades and by early 2019, the hospital will have a total of 13 dedicated pediatric ORs.
The new hybrid operating and interventional radiology suites are located near the operating rooms, which allows multistage procedures to be completed in one scheduled appointment time and location. In the neuro-hybrid suite, an intraoperative MRI is positioned between an operating room and an interventional neuroradiology room that also doubles as an OR.
The new surgery center is part of the greater Treatment Center at Packard Children’s, which also includes the Cynthia Fry Gunn and John A. Gunn Imaging Center that opened in December 2017.
