The San Francisco Business Times (SFBT) recently unveiled its top five largest bay area hospital construction projects as ranked by estimated overall cost. As researched by Julia Cooper, the list includes “hospital, medical office, clinic and health services projects under construction in November 2019. The “bay area” is defined as Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo Counties. The top five are:

1) MarinHealth Medical Center Expansion with an estimated cost of $535 million;
2) Joan and Sanford I. Weill Neurosciences Building with an estimated cost of $447 million;
3) UCSF Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision at $237 million;
4) Kaiser Marshall Specialty Medical Office Building at $170 million; and
5) Viamonte continuing care retirement community at $127.8 million.
