Sarasota Memorial Hospital (Sarasota, Fla.) is planning a $65 million behavioral health pavilion in Sarasota, according to an article in Sarasota.

The 82-bed, 95,000-square-foot project will replace Sarasota Memorial’s aging behavioral health hospital and be situated on the hospital’s main campus.

Plans for the pavilion call for four dedicated inpatient units, including an 18-bed geriatric unit, 20-bed acute-care unit, 22-bed adult unit, and 22-bed child and adolescent unit. The new facility will offer all private rooms, as well as sensory rooms.

A separate outpatient department will centralize the hospital’s existing partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program, electroconvulsive therapy, and outpatient counseling services. Clinical and support space for pharmacy, laboratory, food and nutrition, public safety, housekeeping, and administrative services are also planned.

Construction is slated to be completed by October 2023.
