The Texas Children’s Hospital has broken ground on a new 52-bed hospital in Austin, Texas.

The 365,000-square-foot freestanding facility will include neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, operating rooms, a sleep center, emergency department, high-risk delivery unit, diagnostic imaging, and an urgent care.

Situated on 24 acres, the project will have an adjacent 170,000-square-foot outpatient building offering pediatric subspecialty services, such as cardiology, oncology, neurology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology care, along with approximately 1,200 parking spaces.

The project team includes Page (architect; Austin) and McCarthy Building Companies Inc. (general contractor; Austin).

It is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2024.
