The S/L/A/M Collaborative (SLAM), a national architectural firm, has acquired three CBRE/Heery architectural design practices focused on healthcare. The transaction includes the CBRE/Heery healthcare design practices in Denver; Iowa City, Iowa; and Philadelphia and the stand-alone CBRE/Heery Design offices associated with these practices.

In addition, SLAM will acquire a justice design practice, as well as a sports design practice.

The newly formed firm will be known as Heery Design, a SLAM Studio. The deal will increase SLAM’s size, functional expertise, and geographic footprint. Financial terms were not disclosed.

CBRE, which acquired Heery in 2017, will retain full ownership of the Heery interior design and engineering businesses, which are part of the company’s project management services offering.

SLAM offers integrated landscape architecture, structural engineering, interior design, and construction services with offices in Connecticut; New York; Atlanta; Boston; and Los Angeles. Recent healthcare project work includes Johns Hopkins Hospital & University.
