PHOTO TOUR: Aurora Health Center 84South
Located in a mixed-use urban development, Aurora Health Center 84South brings care into the community. The facility is easily accessed by both cars and pedestrians.
A glass curtainwall creates transparency and supports wayfinding in the building. A connected parking structure protects patients and their cars from the elements.
The lobby area is an orienting central hub that allows patients and visitors to quickly find their destination.
Specialty clinics each have a unique identity and brand. For example, the pediatrics clinic brand uses color and shape to provide visual interest, while appealing to a wide age range of patients.
A patient-centered, collaborative care model drove the planning of the facility.
Aurora Sports Health Center uses pattern and local sports memorabilia to infuse the space with a sense of energy and vitality.
Located on the top floor, the sports center is filled with natural light and views to neighboring wooded areas.
A variety of sport surfaces and rehab equipment surrounded by large inspirational graphics create an environment to strengthen and heal.
Committed to providing calm, soothing environments that promote health and well-being, the facility has a small café and a secure outdoor area for all building users to enjoy.
Aurora Health Center 84South, Advocate Aurora Health’s new 150,000-square-foot outpatient center, is located in the rapidly expanding suburb of Greenfield, Wis. Part of 84South, a prominent mixed-use development in the metro area, the project opened in August 2019 and creates a multidisciplinary specialty hub, consolidates outpatient facilities, and offers improved access and convenience for patients.
Advocate Aurora’s brand emphasizes calm, soothing environments that promote health and well-being. Additionally, the development required an urban, multistory solution with a 409-stall connected parking facility, with intuitive wayfinding that prioritizes easy access for patients.
The design solution by HGA features a retail-inspired main entry with orthopedic exam and imaging services collocated on the first floor. Surgical, recovery, and pain management services are housed on the floors above, with a destination Sports Health Center on the top floor where orthopedic patients rehab with healthy athletes in a high-energy environment that promotes vitality and motivates a return to wellness.
