PHOTO TOUR: St. Joseph Mercy Health Ann Arbor Cancer Center Addition
As the only National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program in southeast Michigan, St. Joseph Mercy Health Ann Arbor needed a space suited to the evolving research and education in this field. The expanded 66,000-square-foot Robert H. and Judy Dow Alexander Cancer Center was designed to support the hospital’s nationally-renowned cancer research program while also accommodating the facility’s significant patient population expansion.
The main floor houses research and multidisciplinary team areas, while the second floor has 38 patient exam rooms and a 22-bay infusion center, which incorporates access to natural light and outdoor views. The project, designed by Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED; Southfield, Mich.), was completed in December 2018.
