Birmingham East VA Clinic (Birmingham, Ala.): This light-filled concourse off the main lobby provides an array of comfortable seating options for families and patients. Large room numbers above group therapy rooms are used for quick and easy wayfinding, while clearstory windows allow natural light into the facility.

VA Tampa Mental Health Clinic and Inpatient Rehab Facility (Tampa, Fla.): A welcoming reception area and easy wayfinding help create a sense of calm, familiarity, and empowerment. Cool colors have a calming effect and lighter colors are perceived to be more open.

Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center and Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic (San Antonio, Texas): The two-story main entry lobby creates a welcoming space for visiting veterans via comfortable furniture, lounge areas, collaborative tabletops, and a full-service juice/coffee bar.

South Jordan VA Clinic (South Jordan, Utah): The waiting area is outfitted with several comfortable, spaced-out seating options located near the exam rooms and labs.

Omaha VA Ambulatory Care Center's (Omaha, Neb.): The “ribbon wall” along the western façade emulates the colored bars awarded to service members for acts of gallantry and valor.
