Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital Tops Off Replacement In South Boston, Virginia

The $107 million replacement project houses 42 beds and is expected to open in 2027.

Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, Va., marked a construction milestone with the topping off of a replacement hospital in South Boston, according to a news release.

The $107 million project comprises a 42-bed acute care hospital, with space for an emergency department (ED), catheterization lab, dialysis suite, inpatient pharmacy, and operating rooms (ORs). Services include general surgery, intensive care, inpatient treatment, imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, and respiratory therapy.

The project team includes Kahler Slater (architect; Richmond, Va.). The replacement hospital is expected to open in mid-2027.
