Houston Methodist Hospital (Houston) has started construction on a new freestanding emergency department (ED) in Baytown, Texas, according to cron.com.
The $17 million project comprises a 24-hour, 11,900-square-foot facility with 10 exam rooms, on-site imaging, a diagnostic lab, and pharmacy. The design includes separate check-in areas and dedicated outpatient access for imaging services to reduce patient wait times.
Construction is expected to be completed in mid-2027.
