Stony Brook Children’s Hospital Breaks Ground On Pediatric ED In Stony Brook, N.Y.

The project will more than quadruple the size of the existing ED and add 20 exam rooms and two dedicated critical care bays.

Stony Brook Children’s Hospital in Stony Brook, N.Y., has started construction on an expansion of its pediatric emergency department (ED), according to a news release.

The $55 million project will increase the size of the ED from 4,200 square feet to more than 17,000 square feet and add 20 exam rooms, two dedicated critical care bays, and additional pediatric trauma services.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2029.
