The University of New Mexico Hospital (UNM Hospital) has opened a 32,500-square-foot Children’s Psychiatric Center in Albuquerque, N.M., according to a news release.

The $36 million project expands and replaces an existing facility, housing 36 patient beds in single- and double-occupancy rooms. A separate four-bed unit is dedicated to high-acuity patients.

Amenities include a central dining area, communal spaces, and three patient courtyards with play equipment.

The facility is designed by McClain + Yu Architecture & Design (Albuquerque) in collaboration with Davis Partnership Architects (Denver).
