This 125,000-sq.-ft. combination ambulatory care center (ACC) and physician office building (POB) is located in Macomb Township, a fast-growing suburb in the Detroit area, approximately 10 miles from William Beaumont Hospital.

A bold, uplifting daylit atrium space serves as the connector and main circulation spine. Interior spaces within the atrium are designed to evoke feelings of warmth and nature with a fireplace, natural materials, soft colors, plus numerous plantings for an indoor healing garden. Comfortable casual seating is available throughout.

The combined facility offers maximum flexibility to provide a variety of services based on anticipated needs in the marketplace and the ability to complement other components of the Beaumont Hospital Health Care System. The 75,000-sq.-ft. POB can accommodate up to 25 independent physician practice groups. The 50,000 square feet of ACC space includes a wide array of services including a day-surgery center, rehabilitation services with a therapy pool, diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, cardiac services and rehabilitation, and a laboratory.

The site master-planning process explored many options and enables future administrations to select what may be the highest and best land-use to serve the market at a later date. The first phase of the project uses approximately 15 acres of a 30-acre site. Future growth options include expansion of both the ACC and the POB, and also may include either a short-stay hospital or a continuum of senior care complex.
