Introduction
The rationale for Healthcare Design has always been to offer the creators of groundbreaking design in healthcare facilities a showcase for their work. Architecture, interior design, planning, construction—all have been discussed, described, and shown in “living color” in our pages. In the first of what we hope will become a periodic feature, Healthcare Design has asked design firms to describe themselves and how they perceive their missions in refashioning the healthcare facility concept. What follows are the responses of the “initial adaptors” to our new approach to showcasing the best in healthcare design—not just the creations, but now the creators.
