Highlights of the 60,000-plus-square-foot facility include a close physical linkage to Mayo Clinic and an integrated design with flexible, open workspaces.

The $30 million, 60,000-square-foot project is expected to house 2,200 families each year.

The two-story medical facility, located in the Canyon Country neighborhood of Santa Clarita, will be 100 percent leased by Facey Medical Group, an affiliate of Providence Health and Services.

The hospital, located in Toronto, Ontario, and its project partners announced the facility’s achievement of LEED Gold certification through the Canada Green Building Council.

Completed in March, after 264 construction days, the pedestrian connector is a 13-foot-wide tube elevated to heights averaging 40 feet above street level.

The unifying name change coincides with a major capital investment initiative of more than $1.5 billion spent or committed across the Medical City Healthcare system over three years.

Perkins Eastman, together with the India firm Edifice Consultants, is designing the campus, which comprises healthcare, academic and residential zones to create a holistic environment.
