St. Joseph Internal Medicine’s new medical office building was completed in October 2014. The practice in this $6.2 million building is an accredited patient-centered medical home with both NCQA and Stage A for Medicaid. Twenty providers and 50 exam rooms are accommodated in this 23,000-square-foot facility.

The 12th annual Healthcare Design Conference officially kicked off yesterday, with workshops, networking receptions, and on-site tours of recent healthcare projects in and around our host city of San Diego. And today, we dive into the educational sessions in earnest, with 55 individual sessions to choose from plus an awards ceremony luncheon, an invigorating keynote presentation from artist and entrepreneur Erik Wahl, and our welcome reception in the Exhibit Hall.

As part of its long-term vision, Mercer University School of Medicine had been seeking a medical home model for Mercer Medicine to answer a growing need for community health services in central Georgia. To that end, in fall 2012, it engaged McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture to renovate the former home of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame into its new multispecialty ambulatory clinic.

PHOTO TOUR: The Women’s Center
The Women’s Center is a landmark facility that houses two primary tenants, Asante Women’s Imaging, and The Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon. The project prominently features natural materials that emphasize both beauty and durability, and also connect the building with the surrounding context. Local stone and wood products are featured throughout the building.
