RWJBarnabas Health (West Orange, N.J.) and Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (New Brunswick, N.J.), in partnership with New Brunswick Development Corporation (New Brunswick), recently broke ground on a new freestanding cancer hospital in New Brunswick.

The 510,000-square-foot Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center will be adjacent to the existing Rutgers Cancer Institute and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and house inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services, as well as research laboratories. Wellness and education resources will also be available and catered specifically to the needs of cancer survivors.

The $750 million, 12-story project is expected to be completed in 2024.
