Alaska Airlines Center Converted Into COVID-19 Alternate Care Site

The gym at Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage, Alaska, has been transformed into an alternate care site for low-acuity COVID-19 patients, according to an article in Anchorage Daily News.

The temporary care facility, which was completed in a few weeks, holds 51 beds but can be expanded to 163 beds if needed. Plumbing was added for hand-washing stations, and each cubicle was set up with individual lights, outlets, and a special air filtration system.
