Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital is planning to expand its facility in Murfreesboro, Tenn., according to an article in wkrn.com.

The $110 million project will increase the hospital’s bed count to 416. Additional updates will include:

  • adding 16 critical care unit beds on the second floor of the East Tower.
  • building out 36 medical beds in shell space on the eighth floor of the West Tower.
  • developing a higher level neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with six bassinets.
  • reconfiguring the second floor to support expanded operating rooms.
  • adding a new and accessible parking garage with approximately 1,100 spaces.

The project is expected to be completed by 2024.
