Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Saginaw, Mich., recently broke ground on an emergency care center expansion. An article in Saginaw and Bay City News reports that city leaders and hospital employees celebrated the project which is expected to cost approximately $17.6 million.

Reporter Isis Simpson-Mersha writes: “Plans for the project includes adding 12,600 square feet, renovating existing space and improving access for ambulances and the public, 24 exam/treatment rooms, and two state-of-the-art trauma rooms.” Hospital officials say the facility will have bigger rooms without curtains, interactive equipment, and more efficient care, all with a scheduled opening of spring 2021.
