Nonprofit health system Avera (Sioux Falls, S.D.) is planning to invest $245 million in two campus additions in Sioux Falls.

The first project will add a three-story building for digestive health services on its Louise Health Campus in Sioux Falls. It is expected to be completed by early 2026.

The second project will develop a six-story tower addition at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Center in Sioux Falls. Scheduled to be completed by early 2027, the expansion will add a new main entrance to the hospital and 158 beds.

The tower will also offer women’s and children’s hospital services, including labor and delivery, postpartum care, a neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care, and newborn nursery.

Construction is slated to begin on both campus projects in late summer.
