IIDA Announces Design Awards
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) named the winners in its 8th annual Healthcare Design Awards competition, which honors outstanding originality and excellence in the design and furnishings of interior healthcare spaces. The New York Proton Center in New York, by Stantec (Washington D.C.), took home Best of Competition honors. The project, which was named the Ambulatory, Specialty Clinic category winner, was chosen from nine winning projects across six categories.
“Healthcare design is all about overcoming unique challenges, and Stantec took on the challenge of building New York’s first proton center with great consideration,” Cheryl S. Durst, IIDA executive vice president and CEO, said in a release. “The design team created a beautiful, welcoming, and efficient space that uses data and technology to maximize patient comfort.”
Entries were judged by jury members Alexandra Bonner, project interior designer, FCA; Eric Koffler, senior associate, NBBJ; and Tiana Lemons, senior associate, healthcare studio leader, Orcutt/Winslow.
