Baptist Health Adds Entry Building And Children’s Critical Care Tower To Jacksonville Campus
Baptist Health (Jacksonville, Fla.) is moving forward on construction of a $145 million tower that will become the new entrance to the Wolfson Children’s Hospital (Jacksonville) and Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, as well as house a five-floor pediatric critical care center, according to an article in Jax Daily Record.
The 223,131-square-foot, seven-story critical care tower will include a 92-bed neonatal intensive care center as well as a 35-bed pediatric intensive care unit. The neonatal intensive care center will comprise three separate units, replacing the current Level 2 and Level 3 newborn ICUs at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
The project team includes FreemanWhite, part of The Haskell Co. (architect; Jacksonville), DPR Construction (general contractor; West Palm Beach, Fla.), and Perry-McCall Construction (construction; Jacksonville). The tower is expected to be complete in late 2021.
