Florida International University (Miami) and Baptist Health South Florida (Miami) are partnering to develop a new academic health sciences and clinical facility in Miami, according to a news release from global sustainable design and engineering firm Stantec (Miami), the designer on the project.
The $212 million project on Florida International University’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus will serve as a hub for clinical, research, and educational activities.
Stantec is providing architecture, medical planning, landscape architecture, sustainability consulting, and other specialty services on the project.
The advance schematic design has been approved by the FIU Board of Trustees, and the project is now entering design development, according to Arturo Vasquez del Mercado, Stantec’s design principal on the project. Construction is expected to be completed in 2028.
