Bayhealth Embarks On Phased Expansion Of Campuses In Dover And Milford, Delaware 

The Dover campus will add six floors to a 4-story patient tower and expand the ED, while a MOB, interventional suite, and child care center for employees are planned for the Milford site.

Hospital system Bayhealth (Milford, Del.) plans to expand its campuses in Dover and Milford, Del., according to delawareonline.com.  

Specifically, Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in Dover will undergo a phased expansion that will add six floors to the 4-story Pavilion patient tower, with 32 private rooms on each floor.  

Phase one of the project, expected to be completed by 2029, also includes an addition to the emergency department (ED) for a fast-track area, larger waiting room, and new behavioral health suite. The intensive care unit (ICU) and kitchen and cafeteria will also be expanded, and heart and vascular services will be consolidated under one roof with 29 rooms.  

Phase two of the project will add a new surgery center and parking garage.

At Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus in Milford, expansion plans include a new medical office building (MOB) to unify outpatient services; an interventional suite with radiology, neurology, electrophysiology, and cardiac catheterization lab; and a child care center for Bayhealth employees.  

Construction has started on the child care center and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. The MOB is in the design phase with a tentative construction timeline of 18 to 24 months.
