CaroMont Health (Gastonia, N.C.) is planning to build a neighborhood hospital in Lake Wylie, S.C., to expand rural access to care, according to a news release.
The new hospital is expected to supplement outpatient clinics that CaroMont currently operates in the region, offering care across seven specialties: cardiology, endocrinology, family medicine and primary care, neurology, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, and urgent care.
Plans for the new facility include an emergency department, short-stay inpatient and observation care units, surgical and endoscopy suites, and full-service imaging and lab departments.
