Children’s Health Announces Expansion
Children’s Health℠, the eighth-largest pediatric health care provider in the nation, is planning to expand Children’s Medical Center Plano during the next three years to provide care to the rapidly growing North Texas pediatric population.
Expansion plans for the Plano campus include the addition of a 300,000-square-foot tower housing expanded specialty care programs, such as cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology, orthopedics and neurology, among others. The new tower, which will nearly double the size of the hospital facility, will increase the total number of available beds from 72 to 240 and is expected to be complete by early 2024.
Ancillary services, such as pharmacy, lab and imaging, will also expand to serve the added beds.
Additional operating room space will be incorporated into building plans, and the emergency room will be expanded, upgraded, and relocated on campus. Finally, a new parking structure will be built to accommodate more patient families and visitors.
