The government of Alberta, Canada, is providing $2 million toward the planning for an expanded inpatient tower and new research center at Alberta Children’s Hospital, according to the Calgary Herald.
The inpatient tower expansion will add 40 acute care beds and 10 mental health beds, bringing the bed count total to 181 acute care beds and 22 beds for mental health patients.
The project also includes building the Centre for Research for Innovative Care to help personalize treatment, advance precision medicine, and integrate research with clinical care.
