Citizens Memorial Hospital (Bolivar, Mo.) has scheduled a grand opening later this month to unveil a new tower that doubles the size of the hospital, according to a news release.
The 3-story, 117,000-square-foot addition on the south side of the hospital is part of a $100 million expansion and renovation project that broke ground in September 2023. Patient care areas moving to the new tower include an expanded emergency department, medical/surgical units, intensive care, and birthing units with private rooms.
The new tower will also serve as the hospital’s main entrance and feature a kitchen, cafeteria and dining area, coffee shop, and expanded gift shop.
The new patient areas are scheduled to open in April. Renovations in the existing hospital are expected to be completed by the end of 2026. These will include a surgical department expansion and two new cardiac catheterization lab procedure rooms.
