Concord Medical Services (International) Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Concord Medical Services Holdings Limited (Beijing), is acquiring the Fortis Surgical Hospital (Singapore) from Fortis Healthcare International Pte Ltd.

The new owner says it plans to apply to Singapore’s Ministry of Health to change the facility name to Singapore Concord Cancer Hospital and to add more medical specialties, such as oncology, cardiology, respiratory, dermatology, renal medicine, and endocrinology radiotherapy.

The private Fortis Surgical Hospital opened in July 2012 and houses 31 patient beds. Services include minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgeries.

The acquisition is a 100 percent cash transaction and the deal is expected to close by early April.
