The North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services (NDHHS; Bismarck, N.D.) held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on the new North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown, N.D., according to North Dakota Monitor.
The new $300 million replacement hospital will provide adult, geriatric, and forensic behavioral health and psychiatric rehabilitation services and house 140 beds in 316,000 square feet of space.
Amenities will include an arts room, bank, barber, boutique, chapel, computer labs, fitness room, cafeteria, group therapy space, gymnasium, library, music room, rehabilitation apartment, sensory room, teaching kitchen, vocational space, and botanical garden.
The project team includes JLG Architects (principal architect; Grand Forks, N.D.; ), Architecture+ (design consultants; Troy, N.Y.), and Mortenson Construction (construction manager; Fargo, N.D.).
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
