Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Mass., broke ground on a replacement emergency department (ED), according to the website wwlp.com.

The 7,700-square-foot facility will be 40 percent larger than the hospital’s existing 1970s-era ED and house an additional six beds, according to the website westernmassnews.com.

The new ED is expected to be completed in 2025, is slated to cost $26 million.
