East Alabama Medical Center To Expand In Opelika, Alabama

The project will add 30 beds, pharmacy, and interchangeable unit for step-down or ICU patients.

East Alabama Health (Opelika, Ala.) is planning a $32.5 million expansion at its East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

A three-story, 67,400-square-foot addition will be constructed atop a two-story portion of the hospital’s West Pavilion.

The project will add a 20-bed intensive care unit (ICU) with a satellite pharmacy and a 10-bed interchangeable unit for step-down or ICU patients.

The project is slated for completion in fall 2025.
