Emergency COVID-19 Facility Opens In North Carolina

The 30-bed project was built in the parking lot of Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

Five North Carolina hospitals, in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse (Boone, N.C.), an an evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization that provides aid to people in physical need, have opened an emergency COVID-19 field hospital in the parking lot of the Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, N.C., according to an article in WBTV.

The 30-bed project was built in seven days and will service five health systems, including Caldwell UNC Health Care (Lenoir), Appalachian Regional Healthcare System (Boone), Catawba Valley Health System (Hickory, N.C.), Carolinas Healthcare System Blue Ridge (Morganton, N.C.), and Frye Regional Medical Center (Hickory, N.C.).
