The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is set to begin construction to convert a former hospital into an affordable senior living community in the North Kenwood neighborhood of St. Petersburg, according to stpeterising.com.

The 6-story former Edward White Hospital, built in 1974 and closed in 2014, will house an Evara Health (Clearwater, Fla.) clinic on the ground floor, as well as 71 units of affordable senior living.

Evara Health will open a 2,000-square-foot clinic in the building that is open to the public, providing preventative care, chronic disease management, same-day visits, and geriatric services.

The first floor of the building will also house a lobby, open dining hall, catering kitchen, mail room, and bike storage. Additional amenities for residents will include a community room, computer lab, and fitness center.
