Francis Pitt, a planner and designer of behavioral health facilities for more than 40 years, has launched Design in Mental Health Network – North America (DiMHN-NA; New York), according to a news release.
A multidisciplinary charitable organization, DiMHN-NA aims to be a resource for advancing the design of behavioral health environments.
The network brings together experts such as clinicians, architects and designers, health system and facility professionals, researchers, academics, manufacturers, industry partners, and policymakers.
Developed in collaboration with the United Kingdom’s Design in Mental Health Network, the organization is intended to provide shared learning, research, and evidence to foster practical collaboration in trauma-informed design and innovation.
As part of the launch, DiMHN-NA will host an online webinar, moderated by Pitts, titled “Working Together to Better Understand and Improve Mental Health Care Environments,” from 2-3 p.m. EDT on Oct. 26.
