Gulf Coast Medical Center Completes Inpatient Oncology Unit
Lee Health (Fort Myers, Fla.), a publicly owned community health system with four acute care hospitals and two specialty hospitals, recently completed a new oncology center at its Gulf Coast Medical Center (Fort Myers), according to an article in Business Observer.
Situated on the seventh floor, the 72-bed unit is part of Gulf Coast Medical Center, which is located about six miles north of Lee Health’s Regional Cancer Center. It will provide comprehensive inpatient cancer care and include private patient rooms.
Gulf Coast Medical Center is also constructing a three-story addition and 268 more patient beds to the current 356 beds. An expanded radiology department, pharmacy, and laboratory are underway. Completion of all phases is slated for November 2021.
