National healthcare facilities developer Hammes has been named a finalist in the Urban Land Institute’s 2017 Global Awards for Excellence. Hammes was selected on behalf of the Downtown Allentown Revitalization District, located in Allentown, Pa. Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) has been an integral part of the rebirth of downtown Allentown since the Neighborhood Improvement Zone was created.
LVHN was the first major partner to commit to a long-term presence on the arena block anchor site, which is comprised of nearly 1,000,000-square-feet of new mixed-use development including the 10,000-seat PPL Center arena, as well as a hotel, retail and dining. The 190,000-square-foot LVHN facility includes a 40,000-square-foot sports performance community wellness center, as well as a medical office.
