Harris Health Plans $2.9 Billion Replacement For Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital In Houston
Harris Health (Bellaire, Texas) is expected to start construction in May on a $2.5 billion replacement facility for the Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital in Houston, according to the website Community Impact.
Expected to open in first quarter 2029, the project will include 450 inpatient beds, including a 90-bed ICU and 30 beds each in postpartum and neonatal units.
The facility will also house a Level I trauma unit, 15 operating rooms, a hybrid operating room, and seven catheterization labs with interventional radiology and computed tomography scan capabilities.
A central utility plant at the hospital will comprise six generators, including three diesel and three natural gas.
