Health system HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.) has submitted a request for a certificate of public need (COPN) to build a new hospital in Richmond, Va., according to the website

The proposed $233.6 million project would include 60 inpatient beds moved from HCA’s Henrico Doctors’ Hospital – Retreat in Richmond. The Retreat hospital would continue to operate with a decreased licensed-bed count of 167 beds, according to the website

The new project would also house four operating rooms (ORs) and a cardiac catheterization lab.
