Intermountain Health (Salt Lake City) has started construction on the Intermountain Health Felicia and Ben Horowitz Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, according to a news release.
The 828,600-square-foot project represents Nevada’s first standalone children’s hospital, according to the healthcare provider.
The facility comprises a 180-bed inpatient tower on a 33-acre campus, with infrastructure to support a future expansion to 228 beds.
Planned services include neonatal care; pediatric and cardiac intensive care; emergency and trauma care; orthopedics; cancer and bone marrow transplant services; behavioral health; and advanced medical and surgical care.
Shepley Bulfinch (Boston) is the architect on the project, which is expected to be completed in 2030.
