International Partners To Collaborate On Development Of U.S. National BIM Program
The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS; Washington, D.C.), a nonprofit, non-governmental organization focused on the construction of housing and commercial buildings, and the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB; Cambridge, England), a partnership between the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and the University of Cambridge, are collaborating on the development of the U.S. National Building Information Management (BIM) Program to support international alignment on technical standards for the built environment.
The U.S. National BIM Program will foster a more collaborative international digital construction sector and encourage the public and private sector in both countries to learn from each other and exchange best practices.
The collaboration is expected to have economic and environmental benefits for both countries by boosting the economic performance of the construction sector and helping to improve social outcomes and trade opportunities.
