Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Tops Out In Florida

The 164,038-square-foot expansion project will include 72 new patient rooms, several play zones, and an elevated outdoor terrace.

Memorial Healthcare System (Hollywood, Fla.) celebrated a topping-out ceremony with the installation of the final steel beam at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital’s vertical expansion in Hollywood.

The four-story, 164,038-square-foot project includes 72 new patient rooms, two cardiac hybrid operating rooms, two surgical suites, and an intraoperative MRI. The four new floors are on top of the existing four-floor facility.

Plans also include several play zones and family support areas with amenities such as a fitness center, spa, family dining area, and elevated outdoor terrace on the fifth floor for patients and families.

Completion is slated for fall 2022.
