Kaiser Permanente (Oakland, Calif.) held a topping-out ceremony to place the final structural steel beam for the new Railyards Medical Center in Sacramento, Calif., according to The Sacramento Bee.
The 8-story, 662,050-square-foot hospital is expected to open in 2029 with 310 beds, 14 operating rooms, and a 70-bay emergency department. The campus also includes a 5-story, 173,000-square-foot medical office building.
The project is part of a large, multiuse development that features a concert venue, apartment complex, sports stadium, and retail plaza.
