Lake of the Woods District Hospital plans to build a replacement hospital in Kenora, Ontario, Canada, according to canada.constructconnect.com.

The project is in the early planning stages with the Ministry of Health (Toronto) to determine bed counts and square footage, according to the news release.

Plans for the new hospital include an emergency department (ED) with dedicated units for mental health and transitional care; three operating rooms (ORs) with a procedure room, post-anesthesia recovery room, and pre-admission clinic; expanded diagnostic imaging services; and indigenous health and ambulatory care spaces.

Additionally, the project will redevelop and expand the Wiigwas Elder Senior Care long-term care community, which will be located on the hospital campus.
